Are you thinking about where to find work? Do you need language training? How about practical training?

The Employment and Economic Development Office of Joensuu region provides services in Finnish, Swedish, English and Russian.

When registering with the Employment and Economic Development Office, be prepared to show a document of your Finnish municipality of residence, which can attained the Local Register Office.

Before entering the Employment and Economic Development Office you should apply for social security from the Social Insurance Institution of Finland. After that you can draw up an integration plan together with the employment adviser. You also need a passport with a valid residence permit and your most recent references and study certificates.

A social worker or family members can also be involved in preparing the integration plan. If you need an interpreter, please let the employment adviser know in advance. The integration plan consists of a common view on how to further the integration process and access to employment.

Language training

Finnish language learning forms an essential part of the integration process and the knowledge of Finnish also plays an important role in finding a job in Finland. The Employment and Economic Development Office provides language training as labour experiments and courses for immigrants.
