The web pages providing information on the Finnish working life for foreigners will still be available at www.mol.fi/finnwork. The pages contain information about the rules of working life, permits needed to work and the working culture in Finland.

The Directorate of Immigration changes its name into Finnish Immigration Service on the 1st of January 2008. The new web address is www.migri.fi.

The labour administration’s objectives regarding the promotion of ethnic relations and non-discrimination are as follows:

  • facilitating the recruitment of immigrants to public administration posts;
  • increasing awareness about immigration and equal treatment;
  • encouraging the drawing up of equality plans and integration programmes to promote good ethnic relations;  
  • developing a discrimination monitoring system.
