According to the Employment Service Statistics of the Ministry of Employment and the Economy, at the
end of April the number of unemployed jobseekers registered at Employment and Economic
Development Offices totalled 239,200, up 1,600 on the previous year.
The number of new vacancies reported to Employment and Economic Development Offices during April
totalled 48,500, or 1,600 more than April in the previous year. The total number of vacancies remaining
unfilled at Employment and Economic Development Offices at the end of April was 95,800, down 2,200
on the previous year.
At the end of April, unemployed jobseekers under 25 years of age numbered 28,200, representing an
increase by 1,400 from April a year ago and a decrease by 1,400 from March.
At the end of April, the number of long-term unemployed who had been unemployed without interruption
for more than a year amounted to 59,500, up 2,500 on the previous year.
The number of foreign citizens among unemployed jobseekers totalled 18,700, up 1,600 from April a year
ago. Of these foreign unemployed jobseekers, EU/EEA citizens accounted for 4,500 at the end of April,
up 500 from the year before.
