According to the Employment Service Statistics, at the end of April the number of unemployed jobseekers registered at Employment and Economic Development Offices totalled 251,700, up 59,400 on the previous year.

Unemployment increased from the previous year in the areas of all Employment and Economic Development Centres.

The number of new vacancies reported to Employment and Economic Development Offices during April totalled 38,700, or 15,300 less than April in the previous year.

The number of foreign citizens among unemployed jobseekers totalled 14,400, up 2,500 from April a year ago. Of these foreign unemployed jobseekers, EU/EEA citizens accounted for 3,200 at the end of April, up 900 from the year before.
