Mol.fi website being renewed

The Mol.fi website is being renewed. The English pages will be ready later. The changes are necessary due to the fact that the Ministry of Labour was merged into the Ministry of Employment and the Economy.

In future, the Mol.fi website will more explicitly than before offer electronic employment services and give information on services provided by employment offices, the labour market, education and training, as well as matters related to employment relationships.

Some of the themes earlier maintained at mol.fi have been transferred to the website of the new Ministry of Employment and the Economy, www.tem.fi. At present, the website is available only in Finnish. The English version will be opened soon.

Migration matters have been transferred to the website of the Ministry of the Interior, address www.intermin.fi.

The Ministry of Employment and the Economy (MEE) started its operations as from 1 January 2008. The Ministry was established by merging the Ministry of Labour with the Ministry of Trade and Industry.

In addition, matters concerning development of regions were transferred from the Ministry of the Interior to the new Ministry of Employment and the Economy.

Migration matters, that the Ministry of Labour earlier was responsible for, were transferred to the Ministry of the Interior.

The new Ministry is responsible for the operational environment for entrepreneurial innovations in Finland, the functionality of the labour market and the employability of workers, as well as the development of regions in a global economy.

The new Ministry is among other things responsible for the following tasks, that the Ministry of Labour earlier was responsible for: the planning and implementation of the public employment service, matters related to employment relationships and working hours, issues concerning working life participation systems and collective agreements, as well as other questions connected with the working environment, and mediation in labour disputes.
